Fall Planting

DSCN7141So the back yard garden has been put to rest for the winter

DSCN7139The parsley is happy and the sage looks good. I have planted garlic out back.

DSCN7116I decided to plant my fall garden in the front yard only. Due to a couple of factors…mostly puppy Daisy. I need to train her a little more on her garden etiquette. I planted my first round of fall vegetables in the back and nothing came up because she would not stop running over the beds. Above I have Bloomsdale Spinach, Boston Lettuce, Arugula and another lettuce

DSCN7117Calendula going strong ( have saved seeds that I have distributed to half of my neighbors) Radishes already popping up.

DSCN7119Celery started from seed

DSCN7120Calima Beans – type bush bean

DSCN7121Two kinds of Kale with more sprouting up…can never have too much Kale

DSCN7123Brussel Sprouts

Shallots, Leeks and Welsh bunching onions

Swiss Chard

DSCN7132Two types of carrots

That is the journey around my front yard. We will see what makes it to fruition. The hubs is hoping for a traditional English Christmas dinner including parsnips and Brussels Sprouts so we keep watering (because there is no rain) and cross our fingers that we will be harvesting on Christmas Day. What a gift!
